Coming From Pulley? Move Your Cap Table to Aportia Before 8 December

Pulley has announced that it stops operating on 8 December 2026. If your cap table lives there, you need your data out before that date — whatever tool you move to next. This page explains how to export it, what Aportia imports from that export, and what you'll still have to add by hand. Aportia is an independent product: we're not affiliated with Pulley or Carta.

First, Download Everything — Today

Before you decide where to go, take a full copy of your data while you still can. Even if you migrate somewhere else, a copy of your own records is what protects you if something goes missing on the way. Keep the files somewhere your finance and legal people can reach them.

Don't wait for the last week

Exports sometimes take time to generate or need a second try. Menu names change between tools and versions, so look for the option to export the cap table or the securities ledger, and check the files open before the deadline.

  • The full cap table export — in OCF (Open Cap Table Format) if your account offers it
  • The stock ledger (holders, share classes, shares) as CSV
  • The option ledger (grants, vesting, exercises, cancellations) as CSV
  • Signed documents: board consents, grant agreements, certificates
  • Your latest 409A report and any other valuation reports

How the Import Works

You create a free Aportia account, choose "Coming from Carta, Pulley or another tool" and upload the export. The file is read in your browser: it isn't uploaded to our servers. We keep only its name, its fingerprint, a summary with the warnings and what you actually import. Before anything is written you see a full review — holders, classes, pool, plans and grants with their totals — plus every warning and the list of items we couldn't import. Nothing is created until you confirm.

StepWhat happens
1. UploadOCF ZIP/JSON, or the stock and option ledgers as CSV
2. Columns (CSV only)We suggest what each column means; you can fix any of them
3. ReviewTotals, warnings, repeated names, class rights to confirm, what isn't imported
4. ImportWritten step by step with progress; if it stops, upload the same file and it resumes without duplicating
5. ChecklistWhat to review afterwards: leavers, valuation, class rights, manual items

The import always creates a new project. Merging into an existing project isn't supported yet.

What Comes Across

The import brings over the state of your company today rather than replaying its whole history. Shares already issued from past exercises stay in the holders' positions, and the exercises themselves are kept as history, so nothing is counted twice.

  • Holders and their shares, by share class
  • Share classes, with liquidation preference, participation and seniority (you confirm them in the review)
  • Treasury shares, as the company's treasury
  • The unissued option pool and each option plan
  • Option grants (ISO/NSO) with their original units, exercise price and linear vesting with cliff
  • Past option exercises, as history
  • Cash-settled SARs, as phantom appreciation units
  • SAFEs and convertible notes
  • Company valuations and your 409A, as a valuation record

What You'll Add by Hand

Some things can't be brought over exactly yet, and we'd rather show them to you than guess. They're listed in the review with their details, so you can add them once the import is done.

What Aportia doesn't do

Aportia doesn't produce 409A valuations or US filings such as Rule 701 or Form 3921. If you rely on those, plan for a specialist provider; Aportia keeps your latest 409A as a valuation so grants and exit simulations can use it.

  • RSUs, stock-settled SARs and warrants
  • Grants with non-linear vesting (tranches, milestones, back-loaded schedules) or acceleration
  • Stock splits and repricings in the history
  • Unusual convertible instruments
  • Documents and signatures (upload them to the project's documents)

Why Teams Move to Aportia

Aportia is a company management platform built around the cap table: share classes, the reserved pool, option and phantom plans, vesting, SAFEs, round simulation and an exit waterfall that respects preferences — with an audit trail of who changed what. It's free for now, with unlimited members, and it covers companies in the US, the UK, Ireland, Spain, the rest of Europe and Latin America in English and Spanish.
